Kindle Fire Review

The Kindle Fire gives you access to over 10,000 movies and television shows, over 17 million songs, millions of eBooks, and to many magazines. This is the first Amazon Kindle with color, and it is nice, some say “vivid.” Now magazines can be seen in color. At less than half the price of the Apple iPad, it is a game changer in the tablet world.

For those into gaming, there are thousands of games available. They are easy to find at the Amazon web site.

Apps are popular with tablets, and the Kindle Fire gives a new level of gaming with the addition of color and the touchscreen.

Inside the unit is a dual-core processor for speed and the ability to do more than one thing at a time and not be affected by lag. Download a book, switch over to another screen and install an app, and go back to what you were reading  while the other things finish.

There is no need to find a backup app and back up your content. Your content starts and remains in the cloud even if you download a copy to the Kindle Fire. It remains available to you to stream or to download as needed, even if you delete something off the Kindle Fire.

The Kindle Fire lets you send and receive email with the provided email app.

The Kindle Fire is lighter and smaller than prior models. Lightness makes it easy on the hands. Smallness makes it easy to carry in pockets and even small purses.

Storage can hold about 6000 books, or 800 songs, or 10 movies, or 80 apps, or of course and combination thereof. That sure is easier than packing or carrying a bunch of physical books, magazines, DVDs, etc.

You can sample books before purchase. Book prices are lower than physical book prices. And millions of out-of-copyright books are free and available fast and easy.

Finding and purchasing content for the Kindle Fire is easier and faster than traveling to a bookstore or movie rental store. And online selection and availability is much larger than at most any physical store.

The Kindle Fire comes with Wi-Fi for all the connectivity needed to download and install apps and any content you choose. There are no ongoing fees for the wireless service. Wi-Fi does require finding a hotspot.

The Kindle Fire allows you to email personal documents and PDF files to the unit from a computer so that you can conveniently take the files with you.
